The Bay has cold water and the oysters to prove it. These are the places I go when that's what I want — one of them on the water in Marin, where the oysters come out of the bay in front of you.
Best seafood in SF and the whole Bay Area. Daily fresh menu, and the oyster selection is fantastic. My usual order: raw oysters to start, then the clam chowder — their Tabasco finish is the magic — the crab and oyster Rockefeller, and the lobster roll. The wine is fantastic, and bottles are half price on Wednesdays.
Hog Island Oyster in Marin, eaten at the farm itself. Clark's Oyster Bar down the Peninsula and Foreign Cinema in the city are where I order them over dinner.
